Ever since its inception, cinema has become a part of our culture, so much so that it has, in turn, given direction to culture itself. What started as a medium of entertainment was pursued by various creative minds to send a message or stimulate different ways of thinking. And let’s face it, while we do appreciate the visual storytelling, somewhere the technical aspects of filmmaking just go unnoticed.

From scripts to screenplays and storyboards to editing the footage, technology always walks with creativity, shoulder to shoulder. And now, for a change, technology has finally taken the front seat.

Hewlett Packard (HP) associated with MTV for Fameistan, a filmmaking platform that helped four aspiring directors to showcase their talent to the world.

After putting the word out for their hunt for finding the most promising filmmakers, Fameistan was flooded with entries from across the country and the best four among those were given the opportunity to produce and direct their movies. The directors had personal mentors with the likes of Mohit Suri, Radhika Apte, and Homi Adajana who guided them through the entire process. To ensure productivity and quality, HP made sure that the creative minds were equipped with the best technology and gear. Each director had the best-in-class cameras along with power-packed HP laptops like HP Spectre x360, Pavilion x360 and Pavilion Power that helped them craft their dream.

And what would be a better time than Valentine’s evening to catch their creations?

This short-film marathon airs on MTV today (14th February) at 8 PM and are also available on YouTube. The films range from a rom-com (#Letters by Gautam Sharma) to a gripping thriller (Uninvited by Shumbham Yogi). In between the movies, you can also catch the directors chatting about their experience with the shooting, the mentors and what kind of technical approaches they took. So, if you’re someone who doesn’t make elaborate plans and still wants to make V-Day special, might as well sit back on the couch and enjoy cinema with you bae or without (like me).

Here’s the promo to one of the most interesting movie marathons of this month:
