In one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we finally witnessed the clash of the two most iconic comic-book heroes of all time – Batman and Superman. This movie had everything going for it – be it the stellar starcast or the hype of DC universe – but it all fell apart because of a lazy script and some really bad foreshadowing of the DC cinematic universe.

**SPOILER ALERT**

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, please don’t read any further. This article is full of spoilers about crucial plot points in the movie.

The resolution of conflict between Batman and Superman feels so out of place that we’ve decided to compare it with different Bollywood movies to show you how Snyder missed a trick here.

1. Karan Arjun

Shah Rukh Khan (Superman) and Salman Khan (Batman) stop fighting when they realise that their mom is the same. They then go on to fight the main villain.

Salman Khan (Batman) and Shah Rukh Khan (Superman) are basically trying to kill each other when they realise that their moms have similar names (Martha). They stop fighting and become the best of buddies in a matter of five minutes and one song. The duo then takes on Amrish Puri (Lex Luthor) and his goons (Doomsday).

2. Mohra

Naseeruddin Shah (Lex Luthor) tricks Sunil Shetty (Batman) and Akshay Kumar (Superman) into fighting each other only for them to become bhais later on.

Sunil Shetty (Batman) and Akshay Kumar (Superman) are manipulated into fighting each other by Naseeruddin Shah (Lex Luthor). They end up bonding over Raveen Tandon (Louis Lane) and then they go on to fight together against the big bad villain. It’s amazing how Naseeruddin Shah does a better Lex Luthor than Jesse Eisenberg in this movie.

3. Trimurti

Jackie Shroff (Batman) and Anil Kapoor (Superman) give up their ideological differences with the help of Shah Rukh Khan (Wonder Woman). Their mother brings the Trimurti together.

Jackie Shroff (Batman) and Shah Rukh Khan (Wonder Woman) are basically helping each other throughout the movie. Jackie and Anil Kapoor (Superman) have a fight and the latter decides to leave the house (Superman going to the Fortress of Solitude).  Mohan Agashe (Lex Luthor) creates all kinds of misunderstandings and manipulates everyone only for the Trimurti to find out that they are all brothers. In an epic Tu mera bhai hai ending, they kill Mohan Agashe and live happily ever after.

Jackie Shroff (Superman) and Anil Kapoor (Batman) are fighting over their definition of success. Anil Kapoor believes in using any means necessary where as Jackie is a righteous guy. Raakhee (Martha), their mom, brings them back together.

When Raakhee (Martha) returns from her pilgrimage, she finds that Jackie Shroff (Superman) and Anil Kapoor (Batman) have quarreled. They don’t talk to each other bacause Anil Kapoor’s brand of justice isn’t the one Jackie agrees with. Raakhee brings them together as they realise that they need to stick together to fight Amrish Puri (Lex Luthor) and Paresh Rawal (Doomsday).

Amitabh Bachchan (Superman) is manipulated into killing Shashi Kapoor (Batman) but this evil plot is spoiled by their mother (Martha). Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor then exact revenge on the villain.

Shashi Kapoor (Batman) and Amitabh Bachchan (Superman) lock horns over their different ideologies. Amitabh Bachchan is told by Amjad Khan (Lex Luthor) to kill Shashi Kapoor. The duo then go on to settle their differences because of their mother Nirupa Roy (Martha) and then fight against the common enemy.

When Amitabh Bachchan (Batman) is trying to validate his way of working, Shashi Kapoor (Superman) makes him realise that nothing in the world is as wonderful as a Maa. They shake hands and become BFFs.

Amitabh Bachchan (Batman) and Shashi Kapoor (Superman) have huge differences in their respective ideologies. We have the famous Mere paas maa hai dialogue which is very similar to what Superman tells Batman during the fight. The Maa brings them together as they join hands to fight against the bigger enemy.

The reviews of the movies have polarised the internet into fanboys and haters with most “fans” asking the guys who dare question the movie to read comic books. I definitely don’t remember an arc where the conflict between Batman and Superman is resolved over their mothers.
