Madhur Bhandarkar created waves with his first film Chandni Bar and after a bunch of popular films like Page 3 and Fashion, he started repeating the same formula that had worked for him before and that resulted in films like Heroine and Calendar Girls.

But after a few bumps, the trailer of his next film, Indu Sarkar, brings back the film-maker in a rather promising manner.

Set during the Emergency era (1975 to 1977), Indu Sarkar captures the unrest of those people who suffered the political and social consequences of the landmark step taken by the government then in power.

The film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh (playing Sanjay Gandhi), Kirti Kulhari and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
