Pretty much anything you want to talk about is a good enough topic. You’re never going to hear them say “you called me at 1 in the night to talk about this?!”

All your secrets, your anxieties, your insecurities – even your guilty pleasures – are safe with your friend. You can trust them with your eyes closed.

Everything from your new nail colour to your decision to move out goes through your 3 a.m friend first.

They have seen you through so much in life, that by now they can actually understand how your thoughts work. Sometimes, it means that they can see patterns in your behaviour that even you can’t spot!

You don’t even need to hear it. You just know they do, and absolutely nothing can change that.

7. Their love and patience makes you feel special

Sometimes you can’t believe the amount of love you get from your friend. You can’t imagine anyone else putting up with your tantrums the way they do.

8. You know you’re not alone

Even on your darkest days, you know that someone out there is waiting for your call, and will pretty much drop everything else they’re doing just to be with you.

9. They’ve seen you at your worst, and stayed with you through it all…

They understand that everyone has highs and lows in life, and have stuck with you through your worst, because they know that it’s just a passing phase.

Your 3 a.m friend knows you inside out, and they won’t let you settle for anything less than the very best. They know how to push you, and make sure you do the best that you possibly could.

11. They give the best advice

They know every single thing that happens to you, and they understand the way your mind works. Of course they’re the best people to turn to for advice!

12. Privacy is never an issue because you talk in the wee hours of the night

Everyone is fast asleep when you talk. No nosy relative/friend/colleague is going to “accidentally overhear” your conversations.

13. You can get on with your busy day in peace because you know you’ll catch up after hours

Besides, it’s just simpler to talk about everything together at the end of the day because there’s SO MUCH to talk about! Quick calls are never enough.

14. You are sure that nothing can change your relationship

They have always made time for you, and they always will. No one, not even a new girlfriend/boyfriend can change the way things are between the two of you.

15. They have your back

You probably have them listed as emergency contacts somewhere or the other. No matter what happens, you know that they will always come to your aid.
