This Bengali Version Of Our National Anthem Will Make You Stand Up With Pride

The patriotic feeling that we get while humming the national anthem is unparalleled. And in that moment of pride, we overlook our differences and come together as a nation. This Bengali version of our national anthem, titled Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata, brilliantly encompasses this feeling.

The video shows the legendary anthem in its original Bengali composition, as written by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The Hindi version was adopted over the years because of the popularity of the language.

It gives us the anthem a new perspective by touching on important issues such as the India-Pakistan division and the freedom struggle, accentuating that India is united despite it being a home to disparate views, philosophies and cultures.

Directed by critically-acclaimed filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, the song Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata is going to be featured in Mukherji’s upcoming Bengali film Rajkahini . The film stars Rituparna Sengupta, Jisshu Sengupta, and Saswata Chatterjee in lead roles. The song has been sung by over 10 renowned vocalists.
