Usually when there’s a coming together of people from the nations of India and Pakistan, it isn’t unusual to expect fireworks, and even a controversial view or two, especially in a media related setting. Many times (although not all, we can’t paint it with the brush of generalization) the whole thing regresses into a shout fest.
This was not one of those times. In the India Today Conclave 2013, former Indian Army Chief, General Bikram Singh was asked a few pointed questions by Pakistani journalist Wajahat Khan. What followed was a calm and measured dialogue between the two. Just highlighting the fact that neither needs to resort to jingoism or froth-mouthed patriotism to stick to our guns.Check it out.
