In association with Roposo

A lot of us grew up believing that being fashionable was actually all about tossing your DKNY overcoats at your PA and rolling your eyes at pretty much everyone.         *Miranda Priestly has entered the chat guys!*

With time however, the concept of style also reinvented itself from ‘labels’ to become an instant language of self-expression. In this age of influencers, social media, and celebrity trendsetters, the concept of embracing individuality has become increasingly relevant. And this especially holds true in the queer community, where style can be an instrument to express the unfolding of one’s true identity. Perhaps, it’s time to be woke enough to take fashion advice from people regardless of their gender.

One such platform is the live entertainment and shopping platform Roposo, where creators from the queer community also get the chance to share their content and lay bare their stories of bravery, confidence, and optimism, along with sharing some kickass styling tips. And we think it’s pretty cool.

But while many at large have embraced the queer influencers, these creators still face a lot of trolls and hate comments on their social media handles. This highlights the deep-rooted misogyny of people who claim to support the LGBTQIA+ community, but hesitate in being fully accepting of them by shaming the creators for sharing gender neutral fashion tips.

Well, the joke’s on them, because these queer heroes are not taking any troll lying down and Roposo has got their back. As a part of their Pride month campaign, #OwnTheTroll, Roposo got four of their LGBTQIA+ influencers to beat these trolls in the sassiest ways at their disposal.

Fashion and make-up content creator Shivam Bhardwaj, musician Alisha Bhatt, make-up content creator Bhumneshwar, and entertainment content creator Anish Bhagat used comedy, music, fashion, and makeup hacks to show that nothing could ever break their spirits. If you ask us, it’s this moment right here which made these creators shine even brighter.

Roposo is here with a whole new universe of content to keep us entertained. But going through what these queer influencers have to offer, it’s safe to say that we’ll always stay inspired and ahead of our fashion game as well.

It’s really refreshing to see this movement by Roposo which has started a conversation around inclusivity and where as a society we are headed for our future generations. It’s high time people from the queer community felt a sense of belongingness amid us and don’t feel like they’re constantly having to ask for approval and acceptance. It’s not fair and we can do better!
