Did you know the Queen needs no license to drive? Nor does she need any passport. Those are only a few of the powers & privileges that Queen Elizabeth II has. And well, why not! She’s the queen so she can have anything she wants her way.

We are well aware of the lavish lives of the royal members and how they follow a protocol in everything. But not many of us know that the Queen has some secret signals to let her staff understand what she wants.

And quite interestingly, she uses her accessories to send these signals!

Hugo Vickers, the royal historian, spilled the beans about these secret royal signals to People magazine. Apparently, when the queen shifts her bag from one hand to another, it’s a sign that she wants to end the conversation.

While on the other hand, if she puts the bag on a table, it means she’s ready to leave. A few reports also suggest that this move is a 5-minute warning to her support staff that she wants to leave the place.

Another interesting detail that has emerged is that if the Queen is seen twisting her wedding ring, her staff is supposed to take cue that she would like to move on from the conversation.

About this, Vickers told the Mirror:

“Luckily, they’d let you down easy. It would be done very nicely. Someone would come along and say, “Sir, the Archbishop of Canterbury would very much like to meet you”.’

Seems like it’s not just the Queen, even The Duchess of Cambridge carries a clutch bag in front of her in both hands in order to avoid awkward handshakes.

Well, we can’t really say how much of this is true, but these signals can sure send anyone into confusion.
