Vatsalya Singh Chauhan’s father must be pretty proud of his son because the youth has just bagged a job at Microsoft that will pay him Rs 1.02 crore per annum.
21-year-old Chauhan, a final year student of Computer Science from IIT-Kharagpur, hails from the Sanhouli village in Bihar’s Khagariya region.
So why would his father be so proud of him? Because his father is a welder who lives on daily wage, reports Hindustan Times.

The report says that Vatsalya’s father had taken an education loan of Rs. 3.5 lakh for his son to fulfil his dream.
The turning point came when Vatsalya scored 75 percent marks in the Class 12 exam and went to Kota in Rajasthan in 2011 to prepare for the IIT entrance exam. He got an All India Rank of 382 in the IIT-JEE entrance exam and enrolled for the Computer Science program at IIT-Kharagpur.
