According to reports, UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced that a statue of Lord Ram will be built in Ayodhya and it will be the tallest statue in the world with a height of 251 metres.

He made this announcement after a cabinet meeting on Monday (22nd July 2019).

Lord Ram’s statue will supposedly be taller than the 183 metre Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue – the Statue of Unity that was inaugurated in Gujarat last year. This is what the statue would look like:

The holy town of Ayodhya has been in the news for years as it is home to the divisive temple-mosque dispute.

The 251-metre Lord Ram statue will also be the world’s tallest as it will stand taller than Statue of Liberty in New York (93 m), Gautam Buddha’s statue in China (208 m) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in Mumbai (212 m).
