So, apparently no alcohol can be served till the last vote is counted. And the people of the country aren’t very happy with this development since alcohol is the one true way for people to celebrate their victories or drown in their sorrows.
People are expressing their many emotions on Twitter about 23rd May 2019 being a dry day.
Today’s a dry day because if it wasn’t, a lot of us would drink up our sorrows in the form of alcohol and then all the alcohol would actually run dry

EC directive to declare May 23 as Dry Day is hilarious! Do Indians engage in mass drinking all over to express joy or sorrow? If some do what is the police for! And does it influence election outcome! Why not focus on dead people on voters list and EVMs

Why the hell is it a dry day today.
— Shubhi Dixit (@shooby_doobie) May 23, 2019
There maybe a logical explanation to it. They don’t want to deal with unnecessary nuisance like bar fights, drunk driving etc. when all the police force and govt. officials are busy in election duties. Modis got nothing to do with it dude. Think. Must be same in all elections.
— Gulczar (@muziikman) May 23, 2019
Should’ve stocked up.
