In yet another unfortunate incident, three people from Bihar were forced to carry their relative’s dead body after being denied an ambulance by hospital authorities.

On Sunday, three people brought a completely decomposed body of a family member, identified as Sintu Kumar, to Sadar hospital in Katihar district of Bihar for postmortem. The hospital authorities denied to conduct an autopsy of the body and referred it to Bhagalpur, which is about 86 kms  from Sadar hospital, reports NewsX.

The family then asked for an ambulance to carry the body to the hospital but were consistently declined any help by the hospital authorities. Hapless, the family members were forced to carry the body in a plastic bag.

Katihar hospital civil surgeon SC Jha told NewsX that the body was badly decomposed, so they referred it to Bhagalpur hospital for postmortem. He added that the hospital did not have transportation facility and it was the responsibility of the police to take it to the concerned hospital.

Sintu Kumar has drowned in river Ganga at Kursela almost two weeks ago and his body was taken out on 25 September.
