The violent agitation by the Jat community demanding reservation is expected to wither away, with the Haryana government agreeing to give reservation to Jats in the coming budget session of the Assembly, as reported by the NDTV.
However, if you had planned on booking a Delhi-Chandigarh flight on Saturday night or Sunday morning, there’s every likelihood that you would’ve been in a state of disbelief.
Price of the 17:55 Jet Airways Delhi-Chandigarh flight on 21st February, 2016 was an astronomical Rs 99,000.
Airline sources told Hindustan Times that flights out of Chandigarh were fully booked as people were desperate to get out of the city. “These are the last few seats available and they are being sold for a premium,” said an airline official who did not wish to be named.
Ten persons have been killed and about 150 injured during the ongoing Jat stir, as per Haryana police.
