His character may not be associated with a buff body, but the actor who most recently played Dhritarashtra, Thakur Anoop Singh, recently won a major bodybuilding event.
Anoop’s latest crown came in Bangkok last week during the seventh WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships. He struck Gold in the “fitness physique” category beating bodybuilders from 47 other nations.

Recently, he had finished third at a Mr. Asia event.
Anoop had been an active pilot till 2008 before the recession forced him to consider alternative options after he lost his job.
He jumped into the television industry and landed a role in the latest version of Indian mythological epic Mahabharata in 2011. Curiously he played the role of Dhritarashtra, the King of Hastinapur.
The role of Dhritarashtra stuck with the audience, thanks to which he even kept his Twitter handle as: Dhritarashtra. He then moved into bodybuilding.
And we’ve not seen the last of him on our screens just yet. According to an NDTV report, Anoop is all set to make his film debut in Bollywood, Telugu and Marathi films soon.
