A Bengaluru-artist had one of those horrible experiences that we wish no one ever has with a cab. She had booked a cab with Ola and for some reason decided to cancel it.
She got the customary cancellation response and it seemed like that was that. Only, the cab driver wasn’t letting it go so easily. He called her and when she didn’t reply, she got a text in which the driver called her a ‘gandu’:
She promptly tweeted about the experience, sparking a furore
Had to cancel my cab 2 mins after booking yesterday because of an issue. This is how @Olacabs drivers respond to you. pic.twitter.com/b5F2Beoqwy

She was obviously not keen on the abuse thrown at her and complained to @OlaCabs:
@fraudpunju @Olacabs seriously! You have no idea how glad I am I didn’t actually take this cab specially late night.

@fraudpunju yeah! I normally take ola only for the wifi cabs. But I think it’s time to change too.

@domyowndance they fired the driver and I blocked his number. I hope that’s the end of it

@tushardave15 @Olacabs I’m only worried about backlash from the driver since ola said they’re terminating his contract

Worst part? It was her birthday!
Luckily Ola was pretty responsive:
@Micha_Alvez We advise you to block his number, the driver is also made aware of the legal implications. We appreciate your patience.

Other people came up with sympathetic and quirky replies:
Eeks!

@micha_alvez What comeback is there to “Gandu”? He has already won. Forever. @spaceyatri @olacabs

@Micha_Alvez @probablytrippy @Olacabs OLA, this is the worst thing ever. Pl train your drivers.
