The results of CA finals were released yesterday by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and Shadab Hussain, a hard-working son of a tailor emerged as the topper.
Even more inspiring is the fact that he cracked the exam in his first attempt.
According to Times Now News, Hussain scored 597 out of 800 with 74.63 per cent marks.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Kota University, he is the sole person in his family who successfully completed formal education.
Despite his parents being less educated, they worked hard to give him proper schooling, the result of which now bear fruit.
Talking to The Indian Express he said,
I studied day-and-night to earn a job so that my parents do not have to bother about their old age. I thought of Chartered Accountancy (CA) to be a niche profession where one can learn throughout their life. After due consideration and research, I set my mind to become a CA.
Previously, he had also topped the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) exam.
Talking about his how he cracked the CA exam, he gave some nuggets of wisdom,
I used to take a break of 30-40 minutes after three hours of study. I also made sure to walk two-three kilometres every day. It de-stressed me. As the exams approached, I reduced the hours devoted to study in order to keep my mind alert.
He also informed The Indian Express about his strategy which helped him become the top scorer,
I read the paper and find out three-four questions which can help me attain 40 marks and tried solving them in an hour. Thus, I spent the rest two hours scoring more marks and helped me increase my total score, it gave me an edge over others.
Hussain found audit to be the easiest of all the seven subjects in the CA final exam. He has an interest in auditing but is yet to decide the course of his career.
