Days after MNS Chief Raj Thackeray’s diktat on film producers casting Pakistani actors to contribute Rs 5 crore to the Army welfare fund, it has been revealed that the amount will be four times the current amount available in the fund.
According to some government sources, the total amount of donations received in the the Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties is worth Rs 1.4 crore till now. The funding started coming in from mid-August, reports Indian Express.

The initiative was kicked off by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who said that many organisations and individuals are willing to contribute for the families of the soldiers.
As a centralised fund, Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties was started to accept donations and contributions from various organisations & individuals. It was supposed to be looked after by the adjutant general branch of the Army, the report adds.
Under pressure from political and other outfits, Bollywood film producers on Saturday, had announced that they will not engage with Pakistani artistes, clearing decks for the smooth release of Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” as MNS withdrew its threat to stall the screening.
