Having played the characters for 10 long years, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are best known for playing the beloved characters of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley. But the three characters are set to get new faces playing them in the upcoming play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child‘ based on the Harry Potter series.
On Monday, the official Twitter handle of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, confirmed that Jamie Parker would play Harry Potter, Noma Dumezweni would play Hermione Granger and Paul Thornley would play Ron Weasley in the play.

And yes, the biggest change is that Hermione Granger won’t be white anymore.

The trio are all experienced theatre actors.
According to the synopsis on Pottermore, the Cursed Child play will be based on Harry’s difficult life as a father.

The defeater of Voldemort, as an adult, is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, who has to take care of a wife and three children.
His youngest son, Albus Severus Potter, has to struggle with a family legacy that he never wanted. And the father and the son learn an uncomfortable truth: that sometimes darkness comes from the most unexpected places.
