At least three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday in Mon district of Nagaland. According to initial ANI reports, one civilian and one Territorial Army officer had also lost their lives in the encounter.
According to PTI, an Assam Rifles (AR) officer and three members of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) were killed during the encounter, a defence spokesman said on Wednesday.

Three AR jawans were also injured in the encounter that took place at Lappa in Tizit circle last night.
AR personnel raided Lappa at around 11 pm following information that NSCN(K) cadres were moving through that area and an encounter ensued, the spokesman said.
The encounter continued for several hours. Later, bodies of the three militants were found, the spokesman said.
According to Hindustan Times, the militants were believed to be from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) and the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent). The report further quoted an army spokesperson as saying that the encounter is over and combing operations are underway.
