The woman was allegedly set on fire by the two accused when she was on her way to a hearing of the rape case in Raebareli. She was alone at the time.
With the second such horrific case surfacing within a week, people around the country are scared and angry about the whole situation and took to Twitter to express the same.
This crime is as heinous as the one in Hyderabad. Maybe even more so, as had bail not been given the murder may not hv occurred. #UnnaoCase https://t.co/J3DZh34b3d

Isn’t ‘rape’ a non-bailable offence?Shouldn’t the judge who granted the bail, be tried for abatement of murder? What is the relevance of judiciary in the present context? Have we heard anything like ‘judicial accountability’ lately?#unnaokibeti #UnnaoCase https://t.co/uYQMCqkTru

The judiciary let the accused out on bail and he set her on fire when she was in her way to court.
This is the enabling environment that structural violence is providing for what is patently femicide. #UnnaoCase
My deepest condolences to the family of Unnao rape victim. The victim’s death has exposed the double standards of highly stratified Indian patriarchal society. Investigation should be free from any influence or prejudice & justice should be ensured.#UnnaoCase
