The debate on nationalism and anti-nationalism is raging all over India While many political parties have branded people, institutions and organisations as the ‘hub’ of anti-nationals with their own views, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday came up with his own definition of what is nationalism.
So this is how ‘Nationalism’ is defined:
The only definition of NATIONALISM for Bharatwasis should be “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Rest all are escape routes.— Anupam Kher (@AnupamPkher) March 16, 2016
Not everyone on Twitter agreed with Kher and this was how they responded to his Tweet:
Only ‘BHARAT MATA KI JAI’can’t define ntionlism. If I say ‘SareJahaSeAchaHindustan Hamara’ instead..does it mean m Antinational? @anupampkher— Abhijit Dan (@nowabhijit) March 16, 2016
@anupampkher Please note my problem is with d word ‘ONLY’,I have no problem to say ‘BHARAT MATA KI JAI’..I m proud to say BHARAT MATA KI JAI— Abhijit Dan (@nowabhijit) March 16, 2016
@AnupamPkher when i say Jai Hind Am I anti national.?— Saileena Sarkar (@saileenasarkar) March 16, 2016
@AnupamPkher ur slogan is urs don’t force it on others…tomorrow u will say Modi Ji Ki Jai is nationalism for other Free Padmas— Shahnaz Qayoom (@ShahnazQayoom) March 16, 2016

@AnupamPkher People who say Jai Hind, Madar-e-Watan, Zindabaad, Vande Matram, should go to Jail !!— Swachh Politics (@SwachhPolitics) March 16, 2016
Rest assured, not everyone in India agrees with Mr. Kher.
