Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday filed a defamation case against Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami in Delhi High Court, reported News 18.
Tharoor confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote:

The move comes after Goswami’s Republic TV had carried out a expose and broadcasted 19 phone recordings about Shashi Tharoor’s alleged involvement in Sunanda Pushkar murder case.
The Congress MP had slammed the allegations in a tweet, which had gone viral
Exasperating farrago of distortions, misrepresentations&outright lies being broadcast by an unprincipled showman masquerading as a journalst

Later, the Congress MP had also accused Arnab Goswami of trying to ‘exploit a personal tragedy’ to gain attention for his new channel, Republic TV.
Earlier in the day, Delhi High court had issued a legal notice to Goswami for misusing intellectual property of Times Now, the channel owned by Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL).
