Some weeks ago, the death of the saddest polar bear, Arturo who was trapped in an Argentine zoo was doing rounds of the internet. It was a sad tale with a tragic end. However, it seems like animal cruelty is no mood to come to an end, thanks to some ruthless people. Well, here’s a similar story to add to the list that will make your heart cringe.

In the Grandview Aquarium of the Grandview Shopping Centre, China, a polar bear is locked up for people to take selfies with and it’s heartbreaking. In total, there are two polar bears, six belugas, five walrus calves and a wolf living in that trapped world.

After certain videos and pictures of the miserable state of this polar bear went viral, an online petition was filed in March by Animals Asia to free the bear.

Dave Neale, Animals Asia animal welfare director said –

“There is no excuse for any animal to be trapped this way. Taking animals from their natural environments can never be defended, but when they’re re-homed in conditions like we’re seeing at the Grandview Aquarium it’s the worst possible situation.”
