Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s speech on demonetisation in the Rajya Sabha has created a buzz.
Singh on Thursday criticised the government’s move to demonetise old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and highlighted the inconvenience caused to the public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the session for the first time after government introduced the move, was seen patiently listening to his predecessor’s speech.
Singh’s speech garnered strong reactions with support pouring in from many quarters:
