As Congress is busy introspecting the reasons behind its poor performance in the recent assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, a local party leader in Uttar Pradesh has taken a dig at Prashant Kishor, its poll strategist in a unique way.

Rajesh Singh, a secretary in the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday put up a poster outside the party office in Lucknow, announcing a reward of Rs 5 lakh for the person who would find Kishor and bring him before party workers.

Singh, who has served Congress for more than two decades, blamed Kishor for the party’s loss.He said that the poster was put up on the behalf of “all Congressmen”.

“For the last one year, we have been made to work like fools… without asking any questions. We were told to work as he (Kishor) wanted us to without any ifs and buts… We did so thinking that probably it was best for the revival of the party. But now we need answers,” he said, reports Indian Express.

The party has however denied all the allegations made by Singh who was on Sunday suspended from Congress for six years, reports NDTV.

Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar who took the moral responsibility of the defeat refused to comment on questions relating to poll strategist Prashant Kishor.

Congress’ chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the party valued the hard work and contribution of Prashant Kishor and his team.

Kishor, a poll strategist and policy advisor is credited for helping Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He was appointed by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. An India Today report says that it was him who suggested the Congress to join hands with the Samajwadi Party.
