4. From the elaborate rangolis to the detailed idols, every element of a pandal is worth capturing.

5. And posing against the decorations is an important part of the pujo celebrations!

6. Just like sindur khela is an important element of traditional pujo celebrations.

7. The preparations for the events are never less than fabulous.

Maa Katyayani is worshipped on the sixth day. Maa Katyayani is known for her fearsome sight, with her wild hair and have 18 arms, each holding a different weapon in each hand. Goddess Katyani’s divine appearance is full of rage and anger. It seems that she emits a radiant light from her own body said to eradicate the darkness and evil in everyone’s life. Despite this manifestation Hindus believe that she is the symbol of calmness and brings inner peace upon all who worship her with full religious devotion and belief. Maa Katyayani also appears to be seated on a lion, which signifies that she is always ready to confront evil. With each passing year, the definition of Durga Pujo has been changing for me. Earlier during the primary to middle school days, it used to be the excitement of getting new clothes to planning how many pandals to visit and meeting as many people as the limited days of festivities would permit. Now,pujo actually has come to mean few days of festivity where people who have travelled a few miles more coming back home.It now means spending quality time with those loved ones and making memories. 💫 How time changes, How the concepts we hold in our minds about different things changes, including pujo. How we grow. How the memories and the process and effort in making them becomes more important. We don’t even realise. So, Here’s wishing all a Subho Bijoy Doshomi. Hope the coming years bring joy, laughter and sunshine to everyone’s lives. Till then, Keep the memories alive. ❤ #durgapujo #writersofinstagram #instagram #foodporn #sweettooth #calcuttauncut #calcuttacacophony #ig_calcutta #ig_daily #ashlopujo #amarkolkata #amarshohor #kolkatadays #kolkatafoodscene #kolkatagram #kolkataeats #sokolkata #ifoundawseome #celebratewithLBB #lbbkolkata #dd_kolkata #thingstodoincalcutta #things2doinkolkata #thisiskolkata #nomnom #tasteofcalcutta #tasteofindia #foodlove #foodtalkindia #withlovekolkata
