In a setback to India’s ‘total domination’ approach to their World Cup 2019 campaign, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a hamstring injury and is set to miss the next 2 to 3 games, confirms ESPNcricinfo.
Bhuvneshwar was forced to leave the field after bowling just 2.4 overs against Pakistan as he suffered from a hamstring niggle, which will keep him out against Afghanistan and West Indies.
Though skipper Kohli claimed it was a “slight niggle”, he further clarified:
It was because of slipping on the foot marks. It doesn’t look too serious at the moment. We are going to give it some time. Hopefully he will be ready in a couple of games, if not max by three games from now.
Despite many thinking that this might hurt India in the later stages of the World Cup, Kohli wasn’t worried and further reminded everyone about having a replacement ready in Mohd. Shami.
