IPL is popular for glitz and glamour but it’s also a platform for young talent. The T20 league is full of numerous rags to riches story and Mumbai Indians’ Kulwant Khejroliya is another one of those talented players whose life has completely changed because of the cricket carnival.

A left-arm pacer, Kulwant only took to cricket a year back after one of his friends spotted the talent and urged him to take up the sport professionally. Incredibly, the 25-year-old cricketer was working as a waiter in a restaurant in Goa before moving to Delhi to play club cricket.

Kulwant, however, didn’t inform his parents about his plans as he told them that he was moving to Ahmedabad to join his friend’s transport business. In Delhi, the pacer joined LB Shastri Cricket Club, popular for producing cricketers like Gautam Gambhir and Nitish Rana.

Kulwant was bought by MI in the IPL 2017 auction at his base price of Rs 10 lakh. He also made his first-class debut for Delhi in the 2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is yet to play a match for Mumbai.
