It was Ashish Nehra’s final International game.
The venue – Feroz Shah Kotla, Nehra’s home ground made the occasion special and Team India made it extra special with a comprehensive win against New Zealand.
It’s their first victory over Kiwis in T20Is as Virat Kohli-side won by 53 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Having been asked to bat first, openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan scored 80 each to help India post 202 from 20 overs.

In reply, New Zealand batters were rocked by India’s disciplined bowling. Spinners bowled brilliantly under tough conditions as Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel picked up four wickets in eight overs for just 46 overs. The Kiwi batsmen could never get going, managing only 149 runs in reply.
Twitterati showered love on Nehra Ji as he bowed out of international cricket.
