Rajasthan Royals are the only IPL team willing to spend their three foreign players on bowling and the idea is working perfectly for them as they restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 127/5 and reached the target with 6 wickets remaining.
However, unlike the previous matches, their pace trinity of Tim Southee, Chris Morris and James Faulkner couldn’t pick a single wicket. But Dhawal Kulkarni (2/9) and Pravin Tambe (2/21) made up for that.
The Royals needed some calm batting to achieve the below-par target but their openers, Ajinkya Rahane (62 off 56) and Sanju Samson (26 off 30), were too cautious and the game was dragged into the final over.
But the match was always theirs as Rajasthan have now won four-in-four this season and are on top. Sunrisers, on the other hand, have one win from three matches.
