Only 22 years old, Sumit Nagal is the youngest Indian to feature at the US Open in the last 25 years. Despite losing the first set against Menezes, he made an astonishing comeback with 6-4, 6-3 in the final sets.

Ranked 190 in the world, Sumit Nagal – who is the 2015 Wimbledon junior boys doubles champion – is the second Indian to qualify for the US Open 2019, after Prajnesh Gunneswaran.
