Bose is known for its high-quality audio products but, this time they have introduced a new range of eyewear that basically works as an eye protection device and wireless headphones.

No, don’t pinch yourself. You read that right. With the advancement in technology new devices are being invented and the Bose Frames is one such example.

The eyewear is officially known as the “Bose Frames” and it comes with audio augmented reality features. These are not regular sunglasses, according to Bose, “they come with proprietary open-ear design and take micro-acoustics, voice control, and personal audio to an entirely new level.”

These sunglasses are quite popular in the U.S right now, where it launched six months back. As a user you can use this device to stream music, information and even make calls. You can also gain access to virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Siri with these frames. How cool is that?

Right now, these frames are available in two different designs in Matt Black- Alto, which is square and angled; and Rondo, round and smaller.

Just like any other sunglasses, both frames come with uniformly tinted lenses and can block up to 99% of the UV rays. The tinted lenses can be easily popped out and replaced with the first Frames’ accessories which means, these frames are re-usable.

What’s more? These frames can last up to 3.5 hours for playback and up to 12 hours on standby which is actually pretty cool. And, when the battery dies down, you can charge them using a pogo-pin cable which comes with the sunglasses.

I mean, who knew that sunglasses could one day be used as wireless headphones?

You can also pair these frames with the Bose Connect app (available only on iOS), to gain access to additional control and software updates for a better audio experience. However, Android users will have to wait a little longer since, the Android app is still being developed by the company. So, hold on to your patience, Android users.

This product would cost about ₹21,900 and it is going to be available in India from 20th June 2019.

It’ll be interesting to see how this new device fairs in the Indian market, given the fact that the price is a little on the higher end.
