In association with MakeMyTrip

Top current affairs discussed at my family dinner table:

“How to curb global warming?”

“Who’ll win the Bengal elections?”

“When will I get married?”

Over time I have learnt to finish my food faster. But wherever I go, questions follow. Like the other day, while going through our old college trip pictures my best friend asked, “When are we going to Goa again?”

Now we all need a break in life. But while not everyone might be comfortable taking a holiday right now, we can always keep dreaming and planning for the future. And MakeMyTrip is vowing to make us fall in love with unseen dream destinations to visit in our country with its campaign #MyIndia.

The brand believes that while travelling, it’s always better to opt for unexplored destinations than famous touristy locations. So as part of their #MyIndia campaign, the brand has released an Unseen India Travel Film that is giving us a virtual tour of some spectacular-yet-unknown tourist spots with a poem-like voiceover by Vijay Raaz. And watching this film is giving us major travel goals.

MakeMyTrip is inciting the travel bug in all of us by reminding us how incredibly beautiful our country is. The #MyIndia campaign is bringing to us the beauty of over 100 unexplored gems in India with the help of 22 popular Instagrammers. These influencers have covered 19 states and 3 union territories over a span of 60 days. And now they are highlighting these majestic locations through their image posts, videos and Instagram Reels. Check out some of the places that these content creators explored.

Travel photographer Sunny Gala takes us to explore the beautiful port town of Dhanushkodi and Samanar hills’ ancient caves with carvings from 1st century A.D along with many more in Tamil Nadu.

Can you guess what food blogger Shivesh’s recipe for a perfect stay is? It’s in Puducherry! See it for yourself here.

Traveller Brinda is traversing the snow capped hills in Himachal and believes that the state has a lot more to offer than just the mall roads of Shimla, Rohtang Pass or Manali. And we agree with her!

These influencers have not only explored these places but are also encouraging us to share posts of any hidden gems that we may have come across or visited, as an entry to the #MyIndia contest. And if we’re lucky, then we might just get a chance to be MakeMyTrip’s travel ambassador! Isn’t that exciting?

The fact that our country is blessed with such picturesque beauty of unending beaches, gorgeous hills, and ancient monuments should make us smile wide with pride. We’re still in the middle of a pandemic and travelling right now might not be feasible. But when the time is right, you can head over to MakeMyTrip’s Instagram page or the MakeMyTrip app to find more travel-related inspirational content.

R.I.P Goa plan!
