You can either hate it or love it but there’s no way you can ignore Bollywood. 

Our weekend plans usually revolve around going to the theatre to watch the newest Hindi film and while we may come out dissapointed, we never lose hope in Hindi cinema.

In the first four months of 2017, films like Raees and Rangoon did disappoint us but the likes of Haraamkhor have kept our faith alive.

Here are 38 films from Bollywood that have already confirmed our trip to the movie theatres: 

1. Bahubali: The Conclusion – April 28

Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali? We’ll finally have the answer to this question. 

This is certainly the most awaited film of the year. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah Bhatia. In case you haven’t seen the first one, watch it before April 28.

2. Meri Pyaari Bindu – May 12

With this film, Parineeti Chopra will return to the silver screen after a long hiatus (she was last seen in 2014’s Kill Dil).

The film also stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. Set in Kolkata and Mumbai, the film has Khurrana essaying the role of a novelist who is reminiscing the years he spent with Bindu (Parineeti Chopra).

3. Hindi Medium – May 12

Starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar, the film is about a middle class couple who dreams of getting their child in an English medium school. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal.

4. Sarkar 3 – May 12

The third film of the franchise has Amitabh Bachchan reprising his role as Subhash Nagare. The first two films were loved by the audience and this time the cast also includes Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Amit Sadh.

5. Half Girlfriend – May 19

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s book by the same name, this film stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. 

The film is directed by Mohit Suri.

6. Sachin – A Billion Dreams – May 26

Using footage from his real life and interviews from his family and team mates, this film is definitely going to be an experience that most cricket fans are looking forward to. From the trailer, it looks like the film will also dramatically represent certain portions from the cricketer’s life.

7. Behen Hogi Teri – May 26

Starring Shruti Haasan and Rajkummar Rao, the film is directed by Ajay K Pannalal.

8. Raabta – June 9

Raabta is a love story that spans across two eras. Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon star as the two leads while Jim Sarbh (of Neerja fame) stars as the evil third angle to their love story. Deepika Padukone will have a special appearance in the film as well.

9. Tubelight – June 26

Starring Salman Khan in the lead, this film is a period drama based on the Indo-China War of 1962. The film is directed by Kabir Khan who has earlier directed films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger.

10. Mom – July 7

Starring Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna, this film is directed by Ravi Udyawar. Sridevi was last seen in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish (2012) and her fans are looking forward to this film.

11. Chef – July 14

This film is an official remake of Jon Favreau’s 2014 film, Chef.

The film is the journey of a chef who rediscovers his love for food and cooking. Saif Ali Khan will play the title role in the film and the movie is directed by Raja Krishna Menon (who earlier directed Airlift).

12. Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai – July 14

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, this film is the biopic of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar. Shraddha Kapoor will play the title role in the film and her brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, will be seen as Dawood.

This film directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ranbir Kapoor & Katrina Kaif is a ride into a fantasy land.

The surreal promo of the film has certainly impressed the audience. The film is the story of a detective who is in search of his father.

The story of boy who is a huge fan of Michael Jackson has the perfect cast to support the story.

Tiger Shroff plays the protagonist of the film and stars opposite Nidhhi Agerwal who makes her debut with this film. The film also has Nawazuddin Siddiqui as part of the cast.

Imtiaz Ali’s next, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, is certainly one of the most awaited films this year. 

Ali certainly has a knack of telling the most beautiful love stories and with SRK joining him, we are expecting nothing less than magic on screen.

The 1997 film Judwaa still makes us laugh and with a remake of the film coming up, we hope they don’t destroy the classic.

The fourth film from the Golmaal franchise releases later this year.

The film stars Zaira Wasim (of Dangal fame) playing a musician who wants to fulfill her dreams. Aamir Khan will play a pivotal role in the film.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next is the story of Alauddin Khilji, Rani Padmini and Rana Rawal Ratan Singh. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and has been battling a lot of controversy during its shooting schedule.

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film is an adaptation of Ryan Gosling-starrer, Drive (2011). 

Produced by Karan Johar, the film is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani (who earlier directed Dostana).

Twinkle Khanna’s first production venture is the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham. He started the revolution of creating affordable sanitary napkins that could be distributed throughout the country. 

Akshay Kumar will be seen in the title role. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

Dirceted by Rajkumar Santoshi, this film is based on the 1897 battle that was fought by the British Indian contingent of 21 Sikhs against the Afghan Orakzai tribesmen.

The film is the story of six individuals who are in search of their identity in Mumbai.
