Alzheimer’s disease has an impact that’s far beyond mere forgetfulness. Apart from the fact that there’s very little knowledge about the disease among the general public, another aspect that hampers much discourse on the topic is how people suffering from the disease are often embarrassed of being seen as some sort of burden on others, despite being adults.

Brad Swientoniowski uploaded a video of his 68-year-old dad’s struggle with Alzheimer’s to create more awareness about it. The patient, Daniel Swientoniowski, is a Vietnam veteran who worked in the police force throughout the 70s and the 80s. But now he finds himself messing up simple everyday things.
