Last year Anu Malik was accused of sexual misconduct and removed as a judge from the show. However, he returned as a judge for season 11.

This is when Sona Mohapatra called out Sony Pictures International for reinstating him as a judge and many people came out in her support.

After Anu Malik stepped down, Sona also took to Twitter to thank people for supporting her.

As of now, the show has not released any information about any future associations with him.

Update: According to HT, Anu Malik confirmed that he has taken a three-week-long break from Indian Idol to ‘clear his name’, but has not ‘quit the show’.
