If You Received This WhatsApp Forward About The Shivaji Statue, Don’t Fall For It Because It’s Fake

Amidst much controversy and celebrations in equal measure, PM Modi recently laid the foundation of the 192-metre-statue of medieval king Chhatrapati Shivaji, which upon completion, will be the tallest statue in the world.

While the statue will (hopefully) be completed by 2019, we came across this WhatsApp message on Reddit, praising the many benefits of the statue, doing the rounds.

Wow! We’re pretty sure the statue will have a GPS tracking chip as well. You know, to trace it just in case someone tries to steal it.

Just kidding, guys. We know the message is fake as shit. But hey, it does make for an interesting read.

The message is reminiscent of those earlier WhatsApp forwards proclaiming how UNESCO is hell bent on ‘declaring every Indian thing the best in the world’.

Let’s stop spreading lies, people.
