Counterfeit currency is a major problem not just in India, but the world over. It wreaks havoc on the economy and generally just fucks things up. On the other hand, it can also lead to a few extremely strange situations, as in the case of a certain Kolkata-based actress.
Megha Chakraborty, the actress in question, revealed that she recently got scammed by the best in the game – a Mumbai autowallah. This dude gave her a 100 rupee note that’s faker than the handlebar muchhi you drew on yourself when you were a kid.
Now, I can dig the fact that at 1am this could pass for a regular 100 rupee note at a cursory glance. Look a little harder though, and this note turns into a masterclass in fraud. For one, it says ‘Children Bank of India’.
Secondly, it bizarrely claims to be a ‘One Hundred Coupon’.
Third – ‘I promise to play with the coupon hundred’. WTF!
And the fourth. The piece de resistance – it’s signed by freakin’ Santa Claus!
Megha, you might have lost that hundred, but you’ve definitely won at life.
