From Neymar’s Roll To Putin’s Handshake, This Has Been The World Cup Of Memes

Ira Shukla

The World Cup, like any tournament, is a lot about competitiveness and now, somewhat about memes.

Here are the funniest FIFA World Cup memes that made social media a funnier place as fans stopped indulging in the Messi-Ronaldo, Brazil-Germany debate for once.

Messi after Portugal’s exit: Ronaldo, chal bhai saath chalte hain.

But before that Neymar rolled and took all of Twitter with him.

Also, Brazil.

Neymar has got nothing on Maradona, though.

The Argentine legend showed us every emotion ever felt by a human being, in just one match.

If Maradona has expressions, Putin has swag.

Russia’s first match against Saudi Arabia made as much news for the hosts’ 5-0 win as it did for Putin and Mohammad bin Salman sitting together.

In the World Cup, we have seen some crazy celebrations but nothing can compare to Senegalese football coach Aliou Cissé dancing on the sidelines of the field.

Your favourite team might not be in the competition now but there are always memes.
