We live in a world where we’re all connected, yet we barely know each others’ names. You might have a thousand friends on Facebook, but you barely know half of them. Earlier, life was about your immediate friends and family, but as social media has spread its influence, pretty much everything in our lives now revolves around strangers, a fact that Nameet Potnis summed up pretty succintly on Twitter. Who runs the world? Strangers. The question is, are we missing out on certain significant parts of the human experience because of it?
