Shikhar Dawan announced his arrival in Test cricket in style, scoring a majestic 187 against Australia, at a strike rate of 107. No batsman could’ve asked for a better debut. But morning did not show the day. The southpaw hasn’t been able to follow that up and has mustered just 207 runs in the following 11 innings in India. In the ongoing second Test against New Zealand, Dhawan – selected again over Gautam Gambhir – was out for just 1 run.
