A week ago, India woke up to the devastating news of 4 men raping a veterinarian and burning her to death. Today, India woke up to the news of their encounter.

The Hyderabad police claimed to have killed all 4 of the accused when they tried to escape and since then, has been receiving huge appreciation from a section of people who are calling it a necessary and a bold step.

However, there are also people who do not agree that what happened was correct.

Questioning the legality of the encounter, some of them pointed out that the 4 men were accused, they were not proven guilty by the law. And that instances like these might set a wrong trend.

While there were also arguments that these encounters just go on to show the lack of faith people have in the law and how our justice system has failed the country.

Seniour journalists like Faye DSouza and Nidhi Razdan also lent their voice to the matter, and said that these encounters should not be celebrated.

An opinion they share with many others.

The encounter took place at 3 AM on Friday morning at Chatanpally near Shadnagar, which is 50 km away from Hyderabad. As per the reports, the 4 men tried to run away when the police opened fire on them.
