We all have things we fear. Be it embarrassment, losing something (or someone) dear to us or death, fear characterises how we spend our life to a staggering extent.

But while talking about his experience sky-diving for the first time, actor Will Smith revealed how he stumbled upon a truth about fear that not many of us have had the opportunity to discover – that the very best things in life are on the other side of fear.

In this inspiring talk, Smith gave the audience a detailed account of what he went through when he went sky-diving and faced the paralysing fear this adrenaline-pinching adventure sport made him feel. But his experience in the air… once he took that final leap off the plane… was one that could well be deemed a universal tribute to every time a person has faced their fears and come out ecstatically victorious.

“You realise that the point of maximum danger is the point of minimum fear. It was bliss. The lesson for me was… God placed the best things in life on the other side of terror.”
