Ravindra Jadeja’s not on the Zimbabwe tour and was having a fun time at the Gir sanctuary in Gujarat earlier this week while enjoying his time off.

He even posted this picture:

He also took some photos with his wife (again with the lions in the background)…

…and some selfies with fans and some forest guards.

But forest officials are not amused at all. And it’s not the caste-based hashtag bit that’s offending them. It’s the fact that the cricketer got off his vehicle to pose with lions in the background, something that’s strictly prohibited. For good reason.

Two senior forest department officials will conduct a probe into the matter and a report about the incident will be sent, the chief conservator of forests AP Singh told the Times of India

However, the article notes that there’s very little action that can be taken against the cricketer since he was a VIP guest. But the two forest officials who were accompanying his family are likely to face official action.

An Indian Express report quoted a senior forest official as saying that they still weren’t clear what exactly Jadeja was guilty of.

Though whatever it is, it’s unlikely to fluster the normally unflappable all-rounder.
