This year's assembly elections in Kerala has been a star studded affair with many prominent names from the Malayalam film industry entering electoral politics. While they have been loved by the masses for their roles in their film careers, here is how fared at the polls:
KB Ganesh Kumar beats two other stars
Pathanapuram constituency saw a battle of the stars with three actors competing against each other. But finally it was LDF candidate KB Ganesh Kumar who emerged triumphant. His victory came after he managed to get Malayalam film industry's greatest superstar Mohan Lal, along with film director Priyadarshan to attend his election rally.

Unlike his competitors, KB Ganesh Kumar, is not new to politics. He is the son of veteran Kerala Congress leader R. Balakrishna Pillai. He started his career in 2001 and has held several ministerial posts. He was earlier a part of the Congress-headed UDF but exited it citing differences. Despite being a popular film actor, he is also a big name on television, known for hosting talk shows. Here's who he beat:

Mukesh wins a seat for the LDF
Mukesh is a popular film and TV actor known for both comic as well as serious roles. He is the son of the legendary theatre actor and director, O Madhavan, who was also a founding member of the Communist Party of India in Kerala.
