The title of Akshay Kumar starrer 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' has invited the ire of some Mathura locals who claim the film is trying to defame the city.
And now The Hindustan Times reports that a religious leader has allegedly announced a reward of Rs one crore to anybody who brings him the tongue of the director.
The report says that Sadhu Phooldol Behari Dass Maharaj in his address at a mahapanchayat of Hindu saints at Barsana in Mathura announced the producer of the film will have to change the title or else face dire consequences.
They also suggested an optional name for the film ‘Toilet – A Swachhta Abhiyan’ which may help educating the society better on the subject.
The outrage over the title is because they feel a holy land of Lord Krishna should not be used to shoot a film with a title that defames the community.
But the controversy hasn't affected the popularity of the star of the film.
When Akshay Kumar headed to a private chopper at Mathura, star struck fans rushed to the helipad to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
