Bollywood superstar Salman Khan officially joined hands with the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to fight open defecation by accepting the offer of becoming the brand ambassador of the campaign. The 51-year old met Commissioner Ajoy Mehta along with other officials at the Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters on Saturday to launch the anti-open defecation drive.

According to the report filed by India Today, the civic body will be shooting some audio-visual presentations in the coming days which would be aired through different media to educate people about the menace of open defecation. “People will be told that Salman bhai has donated toilets for them to use. These will be promoted as Bhai ka Toilets. And with this we are hoping people will start using them,” a senior officer of the BMC said.

While appreciating the staff that helps in keeping the city clean, Salman Khan also tweeted saying that he will soon be revealing the next plan of action for their campaign.

The drive initiative came in view after a complaint was filed by the actor on people defecating near his apartment in the suburb of Bandra.
