Christopher Nolan, the modern master is back with his latest movie Dunkirk. The film is a World War II drama based on the mass evacuation of the close to 400,000 British and French soldiers, who are surrounded by German planes. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including One Direction member Harry Styles making his acting debut. The rest of the cast includes actors like Kenneth Brannagh, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance.

This is Nolan’s first film after 2014’s space adventure Interstellar. Nolan has been been denied any Academy Award nominations till date, and Dunkirk might change that. The film also sees the director collaborate with his regulars Hans Zimmer and cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema, who worked with Nolan earlier in Interstellar.

The film is drawing comparisons with Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan which opened with the Normandy beach sequence. Dunkirk is scheduled for release on July 21, 2017. Here’s the first trailer:
