Dogs are amazing companions and probably the only ones who are bound to stay with you in health as well as in sickness.

The internet is filled with instances, where a loyal pet had patiently waited for the owner to come back, not knowing they’ve passed away and won’t be seen again.

This story of a dog waiting for his dead owner to return is equally tear-jerking and saddening.

According to Fox News, Moose, a 3-year-old labrador mix, had been waiting for his ‘daddy’ to come back, not knowing that he had passed away and this wait won’t bring him what he had expected for so long.

The photo posted by North Star Pet Rescue, has since gone viral on Facebook, leaving people teary-eyed and in total awe of Moose’s loyal actions.

Moose has now been returned to Eleventh Hour Rescue, an organization working with North Star Pet Rescue, where he is facing a hard time coping with his owner’s loss.

Here’s the complete post by North Star Pet Rescue.

Talking to Fox News days after the incident and after Moose had already secured a handful of applications for adoption, an official statement from North Star Pet Rescue read:

Thanks to the power of social media, Moose has received several applications & we are hopeful he will find a forever home soon! Thank you for caring & sharing everyone!

It added:

He’s a sweet happy boy by nature. He just needs people to help his heart heal. | Representational image

We hope Moose finds a forever home and a loving owner, just like the last one.
