Can you imagine living in a house that is no less than a mini domestic zoo? Steve Greig from Colorado seems to be having a large house as well as a large heart. According to Dodo Impact he has all sorts of pets, including chickens and ducks. It may seem weird to some of us but Greig and his family won’t have it any other way. Together they have made a home for themselves and the inmates are a pig named Bikini, two chickens, two ducks, two pigeons, a couple of cats, a rabbit and almost a dozen of senior dogs.
All of this began after Steve’s dog Wolfgang passed away and he wanted something good to come out of its death that may have otherwise not been possible. Most people want to adopt cute, cuddly or at least perfectly fit pets. How many of us would really go for an ailing, old pet that needs constant care and attention? That’s the reason most of them are often neglected and fail to find a forever home. Whenever he comes across a pet that is unlikely to find a home, he takes them in.
Initially, he adopted a 12-year old Chihuahua with a heart murmur and four bad knees and that was just the beginning of all the animals. Then he took in Bikini the pig as he found her at the back of a truck. The pigeon he adopted was almost on the verge of death but survived due to his care and attention. It’s a little tough for him to take care of the different needs of the various animals but he seems to be doing one hell of a job.
His day begins at 5 A.M and he even visits home once during lunchtime to check up on the whole bunch. He cooks breakfast for them, administers medicines to them, takes them on walks and to the vet when need be. Greig has a dedicated Instagram account where he keeps updating pictures of the whole family and is giving us major pet goals. 672k people share the love with him and we wanted you to feel some of it!
